"Almost 60% of landfill is organic matter and could be composted" ..."If we leave it in landfills it can create harmful gases such as methane and contribute to global warming. If we were able to divert all organic material away from landfill, if we can recycle all food and garden trimmings, we can help reduce the effects of climate change." (Christopher Rochfort, Centre for Organic and Resource Enterprises)

:: Corks to Marrickville Council > Taronga Zoo > Reprocessing plant > made into floor tiles, notice boards, cricket balls and boat decking.
:: Printer cartridges to Office Works > Planet Ark > All of the printer cartridges that we collect are returned to Close the Loop® where they are sorted and processed.>
:: Over 50% of the laser toner cartridges are sent back to the original equipment manufacturers for their respective remanufacturing or component recovery programs. >
All inkjet cartridges, toner bottles and drum units are processed to recycle their component materials into new products. >
The steel in a fridge, the eWood in a park bench, the plastic in a ruler and the ink in a roller ball pen could have all been a printer cartridge in a previous life.
