Our Future

Located at the heart of Sydney's Inner West, the PBC is one of the oldest in Australia. We have been part of the Inner West since 1896.

In recent years the club has struggled to survive, culminating in several attempts to redevelop some or all of the club grounds. The local community successfully campaigned against all these proposals and in late 2006 the club began a new era with the appointment of a community-based Board. Meet the board!

The PBC is now an award winning and vibrant pokie free club that is dynamic and creative. It provides our diverse community with a multi-purpose facility offering sports, the arts, fun, music and food whilst protecting the use of the open space for the next 110 years.

The PBC has embraced sustainability as part of its overall vision and aims to be a model club in all things green. In the long term the PBC hopes to be solar powered and sell electricity back to the grid.
 

In June 2008, The PBC received an award for achieving a 20% reduction in waste. NSW Sustainable Cities Awards (Registered Clubs Section).

The PBC offers one of the few venues in Sydney for night bowling under floodlights...just great for those warm Spring and Summer evenings.
