Rock 'n' Bowl Sundays
Monthly through winter 2010One day I got to thinking; maybe there are others out there like me who love seeing live music… but can’t be stuffed half the time as it’s too hard to get a baby sitter, leave the warm confines of the couch and tele and step out after a long day at work… if only I could find a venue where kids are welcome and able to run around in some space within a club that has a good little room for live music… my prayers have been answered and I am glad to say I have now found just such a place… the pbc…now there is a Sunday arvo gig each month for friends and families to come and enjoy the sun, a game of lawn bowls if so inclined and the opportunity to hear some great live music into the bargain; cheap drinks, bistro… what more could you ask for on a Sunday arvo in Sydney?… I hope you can join us for our next Sunday line up…
Email Liz at liz@cleartheband.com.au if you are interested in performing at a rock’n’bowl sunday.

CLEAR…….says it all really….. Liz and her bunch of modern day troubadours belong to a genre of music/musician who believe in the magic of a good song – a slightly bent around world of alt country/pop rock, sung, as always, directly from the heart by singer-songwriter Liz Clear. Eschewing fashion and trend for the practice of songcraft and fine musicianship, the aim of this group has always been to write the kind of music that you take with you at the end of the evening. Reminiscent, but never derivative, of some of the classic female fronted groups – The Pretenders, The Falling Joys and artists such as Shawn Colvin. With a self titled album released and a second on the way, Clear have a catalogue of memorable material that will pull you in and leave you singing the choruses on the way home.

Ben Marshall has been playing round Sydney for well over the past decade... a songwriter of fine crafted contemporary tunes, this sunday as a special treat he is joined by Tanya Leibovitch adding sweet vocal harmonies to his eclectic brand of heartfelt pop... music from the soul to feed the soul... enjoy.
Danny Carmichael
You’re in a traffic jam...you hear Paul Simon from a car on your left and the Dave Matthews Band blasting out of a stereo on your right…you’re listening to the fusion of sounds that make up the music of singer-songwriter Danny Carmichael... Danny’s music matches the attention to craft synonymous with song-writing greats, such as James Taylor and Paul McCartney, with infectious grooves and the powerful drive and energy of rock... he can silence an audience with an intelligently articulated ballad and only moments later, effortlessly lead the band into a Zeppelin fuelled improvisation...Last year he released the single "hello hello" followed this year by the release of his debut album "From the ground up"... Backed by Aaron Flower on guitar, Paul Derricott on Drums and Adrian Legg on bass, Danny’s music holds something for everyone.
Robert Taylor & Andrew Mayne
Back by popular demand at the rock’n’bowl... Robert Taylor this time joined by Andrew Mayne will draw you in with their flat pickin bluegrass, Nashville country tunes... think Chet Atkins at his finest... Robert started gigging in the early 70's Folk Music scene, then onto campus rock band Mammal... in 1975 Rob became the guitarist for Dragon till the early 80's when he went onto play with The Magnetics, Dan Johnson Band, Al & the Gators and the Diving Ducks.
