Venue accessibility upgrade plans.

The PBC is open to everyone, but sadly not everyone can enter the building. Founded in 1896 with the main building built in 1930's with an extension in the 1970's the club is not fit for purpose when it comes to accessibility.  We have been building our resources to change this whilst seeking to maintain the authentic atmosphere of the club.

Stage 1, completed two years ago brought accessible bathrooms inside the club.

Stage 2, which we are raising funds for, is a significant build for our small club.

This  involves putting a new entrance through the glass windows next to our office that would take you to a new landing. The veggie garden needs to be moved so a ramp can push into there and connect with the landing. Accessible access will be via The Avenue gate with a path following the current edge of the top green and connecting with the ramp.  Also on the landing will be a set of wide stairs to improve ambulant access into the building. We all know how crowded the current stairs get. During this renovation, we will also change the glass windows facing the green so they have higher acoustic baffling to minimise music for our neighbours.

To fulfill our proposed initiatives, we're raising a portion of the necessary funds through our GoFundMe campaign, alongside leveraging available grants and allocating any profits generated from our events fundraising efforts.
